Grievance

A grievance is an official statement of a complaint about something believed to be wrong or unfair. Commonly, people file a grievance against their workplace.

A grievance is also a real or imagined wrong or other cause for complaint or protest. As an administrator, you may do your best to meet people’s needs; there will always be grievances against your administration. An unsatisfactory group of people will be there to harm you.

A grievance may also be a social issue. A group of people in a society may feel suffering from systemic inequality, exclusion, lack of opportunity to satisfy their basic needs, and other disadvantages. This situation occurs to the minority group throughout the world.

Grievances may also be a form of self-created problems. People raise this form of grievance for lack of security. Spouses hold grievances on insignificant things to force the other partner to change. This kind of grievance is like drinking poison and expecting it to kill your partner.

In many cases, a grievance is harmful and self-destructive. It takes place in our minds by the ego energy trying to lead us the wrong way. Although it may be the right solution, we must first use other steps to solve an issue. The Bible would say, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
