In Haiti, people always say,” One finger cannot pick up okra.” I will add that one finger can’t pick up anything. Alone we cannot do much. An African proverb says, “If you want to go far, go together.” When winter is approaching, birds know there is no fun traveling alone. They flock together to the south for a safe heaven.
Human beings were supposed to live in a lovely interrelationship to build the living space as divinely recommended. The pyramid built by the Egyptian sages at the beginning of this civilization is a vivid example of what love and harmony can accomplish.
Each of us has a divine mission, but most people are ego-driven. We should constantly support the welfare of humanity, but some of us choose to be selfish. The Dalai Lama says: “We must share the suffering of our fellow citizens and practice compassion and tolerance not only toward our loved ones but also toward our enemies.”
At the end of each day, I recommend that you make an inventory of your attitudes toward others and ask the Cosmic Intelligence to cleanse your mind where darkness prevails.
